Savannah Busted Mugshots
Savannah is Chatham County's county seat and had an estimated 149,440 residents on July 1, 2025, according to Census QuickFacts. Its police activity is only one part of the county enforcement mix. Chatham County Police, the Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, airport and school police, courts, and other agencies can also create events within Savannah or send people to the same detention center.
Savannah Police Department headquarters is at 201 Habersham Street, Savannah, GA 31412. Its main telephone is 912-651-6675 and its fax is 912-651-6683. No comprehensive official daily SPD arrest log, booking bulletin, or city mugshot feed was found. The county booking feed is therefore the practical public starting point for a recent jail booking.
The CCSO 24-hour and 72-hour pages label recent entries with the agency. A Savannah arrest can appear as `SAVANNAH PD`, but the feed shows text fields only. It does not show a face, release date, court date, or disposition.
A Savannah location does not always mean SPD made the arrest. State patrol, the Sheriff's Office, Chatham County Police, airport or school police, and other authorities can create a county booking tied to an event in or near the city. Use the agency field before sending a police-report request.
Where Savannah Busted Mugshots Appear
Different offices own different pieces of the paperwork, and that shapes where to look. The county jail feed documents the booking itself. SPD keeps the incident report from the street. State or Superior Court holds whatever happens to the case after that. News sites and unofficial publishers may post images, but none of them amount to an official Savannah arrest roster. Treat them as leads, not the source.
| Channel | Photo? | Use and limit |
|---|---|---|
| CCSO 24-hour feed | No | Newest county-jail booking events, including entries labeled SAVANNAH PD. |
| CCSO 72-hour feed | No | Wider recent-event window; not a current-inmate list. |
| Savannah Police records | Request dependent | Incident or arrest report through the city records route. |
| CCSO records request | Request dependent | Booking sheet and original intake photograph, subject to Georgia law. |
| Local news and unofficial archives | May show one | Story-based or secondary coverage. Verify with CCSO and the courts. |
Note: A news photo published in Savannah does not mean the CCSO booking feed releases that same image.
Local coverage comes from WTOC, WSAV, WJCL, Savannah Morning News, and The Current when a story draws their attention. Aggregator sites work differently. The Georgia Gazette, RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.com all maintain county sections of their own. None of them is an official Savannah police feed.
Busted in Savannah: Find a Booking
Two requests, two destinations. A same-week Savannah jail event goes to the county. The police report from that incident goes to the city. Keep them separate from the start. Neither office can hand you a record the other one holds.
- Open the CCSO 24-hour booking page and look for the name, DOB, agency, arrest date, DIN, and arrest number.
- Use the CCSO 72-hour page if the event is older than the one-day window.
- If the question is current custody, call CCSO Jail Records at 912-652-7734 or Receiving and Discharge/Booking at 912-651-3700.
- Request the SPD incident or arrest report through Savannah's open-records route.
- Request the jail intake sheet or photograph from CCSO through the county request portal, with a truthful and narrow description.
- Follow the case through the correct Chatham court instead of treating a news item as the result.
The county booking and records treatment covers the rolling-window limits, the photo policy, state law, and the custody labels you will see. One thing worth remembering. A person can drop off the feed after release. The underlying booking record stays with its custodian regardless.
Savannah Police Records
Start with Savannah's open-records information. Pick Savannah Police Department inside the city's JustFOIA process for an incident or arrest report. Photographs and electronic material count as public records, subject to exemptions. The city publishes no fixed SPD booking-photo fee. And keep the custody question straight. The jail intake photograph is a CCSO record, not an SPD one by default.

Details speed things up. Give the date range, the location, the person's name, and any report or arrest number you have. Ask for an existing record, not a new compilation. Either office may redact protected details, and both can give you a timetable or cost estimate.
Resist the urge to request everything at once. Split the ask into pieces. One piece is the incident report. Another is body-camera or related police material. A third is the CCSO booking sheet or original intake photograph. Each category has its own custodian, its own exemptions, and its own response clock. What the city sends never settles what the county jail holds.
The city's records interface appears below as a source path. It is not a gallery of faces.
The report and the booking sheet may need separate requests.
Savannah Busted Booking Windows
The narrowest recent window is the official CCSO 24-hour booking view. Reach back a bit further with the 72-hour booking view, which covers three days. Neither page is a permanent archive or a current-inmate roster. To match a Savannah event, use the agency label, arrest date, DIN, arrest number, bond amount, and booked charge together.
For someone in custody now, the CCSO contact directory lists Jail Records plus Receiving and Discharge/Booking. Need a booking sheet or photo? The county's JustFOIA request route is the correct channel. Remember that the public feed shows no images. An SPD report still has to go through the Savannah records path.
| Record phase | Savannah route |
|---|---|
| Recent booking | CCSO 24-hour or 72-hour text feed |
| Possible current custody | CCSO Jail Records or Receiving and Discharge |
| Police narrative | Savannah Police open records |
| Case outcome | Chatham State or Superior Court |
Savannah Busted State Custody
Someone picked up by Savannah Police will not show up in Georgia Department Corrections records right away, if ever. GDC covers the state-prison phase that follows sentencing. Before that point, a person sits in the Chatham County Detention Center. County records are the only place to look. When a GDC match does appear later, confirm it against the GDC ID, the case number, a physical description, and the listed facility.
The GDC locator sometimes displays a profile photo. That image belongs to state corrections, though, and may differ from the county booking photograph. A blank profile does not mean no photo was ever taken. County channels answer what happened at booking; the courts answer what happened after.
GDC recommends searching by name, physical description, GDC ID, or case number. Try the first four letters of a surname when a result does not appear. That logic only helps once sentencing or state custody is realistic. A Savannah booking still sitting in the county jail stage will not be found there at all.
Savannah Crime Coverage
WTOC runs the deepest local crime stream and sometimes follows a case well past the initial arrest. WSAV and WJCL cover events as they break. Savannah Morning News and The Current add deeper reporting and courtroom context. Connect Savannah's Blotter archive is mostly a historical trove at this point. Treat none of these as a complete daily list of Savannah bookings.
For the wider picture across the county, see Chatham County Arrest News. One caution on images: a photo in a news story might come from an agency, a wanted poster, a court, or a reporter's own camera. CCSO's current booking feed does not necessarily publish the same picture.
Savannah gets heavy media attention. Even so, editors favor the unusual, the official statement, and the case that keeps going. Plenty of routine SPD arrests never earn a line of coverage. A countywide story may mention a Savannah address without any booking row attached. Read the publication date as a lead, never as proof of when someone entered custody.
Savannah's Two-Agency Handoff
Asking SPD for "everything about the arrest" can leave gaps, because SPD does not hold what CCSO keeps. The sheriff's office has the intake sheet and the booking photo. The police department has the incident narrative, the report, and any body-camera material. Ask each custodian only for the categories it actually holds.
Check the agency field in the county feed before you send anything. If the entry lists Chatham County Police, state patrol, or another authority instead of SPD, route the incident-report request to that named agency. Do this even when the event took place inside Savannah.
Savannah Alerts Are Not Inmate Lookup
Savannah's Public Safety App bundles several tools in one place: anonymous Eyes and Ears tips, multimedia uploads, press releases, push notifications, online report filing and tracking, camera registration, 311 access, and a community calendar. It is a communication platform, plain and simple. It will not search jail inmates or serve up a booking-photo archive.
The app page appears below as a city-specific source. CCSO offers no comparable jail-information app, and neither the city app nor CCSO's social accounts promise any set schedule for posting bookings.
Use alerts for tips and public-safety notices, not as proof of custody.
Savannah Booking Record Match
Before sending a request built from a news story, pin the Savannah name to at least two official markers. Pair a date of birth with the agency and arrest date. Or use the DIN together with the arrest number. A shared surname, a typo, or an agency label pointing at the wrong department can quietly send your request to someone else's file.
- DIN identifies the county jail record;
- an arrest number identifies the event;
- a police report number identifies the agency's incident file;
- a court case number identifies the legal proceeding; and
- a GDC number identifies a later state-corrections record.
These numbers connect to one event, but they are not the same thing. The CCSO feed logs what was alleged at intake. The police report tells the story of the incident itself. The court docket records how it all ended.
Note: A common name alone invites false matches, so the agency, date of birth, and booking identifier must all agree.
Savannah Court Dispositions
State Court handles misdemeanors and traffic cases from around the county. Indicted felonies go to Superior Court instead. To connect a booking to a court file, match the name, date of birth, arrest number, filing date, and case number. A search that comes up empty may mean the case is too new to appear yet. It can also mean you are looking in the wrong court.
