Information You Send
Search terms
A name, place, or other phrase entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Chatham County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and forms
An email or contact submission is retained so a reply can be sent. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal demand.
Technical Data and Cookies
Routine page delivery can create technical records about the visit, including:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent;
- referring site, if supplied; and
- visit timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the pages or keep a feature working. A browser can block or delete them. Some functions may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- to keep the resource available and responsive;
- to send search requests to the appropriate partner;
- to understand which pages are useful;
- to diagnose and correct technical faults; and
- to show advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Links and Advertising
The pages link to sheriff and police records, booking feeds, court systems, state and federal locators, and outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy policy and data practices control. Chatham County Busted Mugshots does not control the other service's security or retention.
Some advertising partners may observe activity across sites to help select targeted advertisements. That tracking occurs on the partner's systems under its own notices, not as a promise that this resource controls every partner record.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold by Chatham County Busted Mugshots. It may be handled by the following categories of recipient:
- search partners that process entered queries;
- analytics providers;
- advertising networks; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Limits
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for internet operations, but no connected system is completely secure. The resource cannot promise that data will never be accessed, lost, or exposed through a new technical failure.
Visitors Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submits information, a parent or guardian may ask that it be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
- ask for a copy of data held about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- ask that information be erased; or
- object to or opt out of certain processing.
Requests can be sent through the Contacts page. A request may require enough detail to identify the relevant message or record.
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices can change as the resource, vendors, or law changes. An updated notice will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies to later visits.
